Irish pub closing in Louisville; Here's when

The owners of The Raven Irish Pub said they decided to not renew their lease so they can focus on family.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A popular bar on Shelbyville Road has announced it is closing at the end of the month.

In a social media post on Thursday, The Raven Irish Pub said they are closing their doors on May 31.

The owners said they decided to not renew their lease so they can focus on family.

"We have poured our blood, sweat and tears into our beloved pub, but have decided to turn our energy toward the family and give them the much needed time that they deserve," they wrote.

They thanked their staff, family, friends and musicians that have visited the bar over the years.

"We will celebrate the memories, friendships and this new chapter in our lives over the next nine days, and hope to see you at The Raven one last time," they wrote.

There are still three more events planned at the pub; the Louisville Bluegrass Band is still set to perform at The Raven on May 25, trivia night will be on May 28, and Bluegrass Jam will happen on May 29 according to their website.

The pub opened in 2020 during the pandemic.
