Accounting firm FORVIS moves to top floor of PNC Tower in downtown Louisville

One of the largest accounting firms in the country unveiled its new office on the top floor of Louisville's iconic PNC Tower.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Accounting firm FORVIS has moved from the suburbs to downtown Louisville.

Thursday, the company unveiled its new office at the top of the PNC Tower on 5th Street. The previous office was on Hurstbourne Parkway in east Louisville.

FORVIS is one of the largest accounting firms in the country, and when it comes to building back downtown, President and CEO of Greater Louisville Inc. Sarah Davasher-Wisdom said there's strength in numbers.

"It's important that we have a strong Central Business District with lots of businesses and lots of activity," Davasher-Wisdom said.

Davasher-Wisdom also stressed the impact of having more workers downtown, who in turn can eat lunch at local restaurants and frequent downtown businesses.

When it comes to downtown tourism, she said it's only been going up in recent years since the pandemic.

"People are coming here and the more they see the activity, the better," Davasher-Wisdom said. "It's critical to the perception of safety. The more people that we have in the downtown area during the day and in the evening, the safer that people feel."

According to FORVIS, the company takes up the full 38th floor of the PNC Tower.

The move comes on the heels of several other downtown companies announcing their relocation plans. In early February, Cincinnati-based Fifth Third Bank announced plans to move its Louisville operations out of the 4th Street Tower, formerly known as the Brown & Williamson Tower, into a space in the NuLu neighborhood.

One before Fifth Third Bank's announcement, Humana, Kentucky's only Fourtune 500 company, announced plans to vacate Humana Tower in downtown
