LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Enid Yandell was more than just a sculptor, she was an activist during the Women's Suffrage Movement, and served in the Red Cross during and after World War I. More than 80 years after her passing, the city of Louisville has come together with a community-wide celebration of Enid's life and legacy, through a series of exhibits and events being held all year. Local artist Matt Weir is hosting a special event to demystify an ancient technique that Enid used for some of her most popular works. Matt stopped by Great Day Live, along with Heather Potter from the Filson Historical Museum, where they recently opened an exhibit on Enid’s early life and work. You can attend Matt Weir's Lost Wax Metal Casting event on Thursday, June 27, 2019 from 5-7 PM at the Filson Historical Society, which is located at 1310 South Third Street in Louisville, KY. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to FilsonHistorical.org. To learn more about artist Matt Weir, go to MWeir.com.
