LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Alex Dederer joined the WHAS11 team in September 2023 as a weekend evening anchor.
Alex is originally from St. Louis, so the love for Cardinals sports runs deep!
Alex graduated from Indiana University with a degree in broadcast journalism where she got her start in news as a reporter for local radio station WFHB and hasn’t looked back since.
After graduating, Alex moved to Rochester, Minnesota where she was the morning reporter and anchored and produced the weekend shows.
While there, Alex covered everything from local elections to severe winter weather conditions – earning an Emmy Award for her coverage of the historic December tornadoes in Minnesota.
Alex is grateful to be a part of the Louisville community and is dedicated to keeping the community informed, seen and heard.
Outside of the newsroom, you can find Alex reading, playing cornhole and hiking. She loves to spend time with her friends and family at baseball games and eating good food.
