The woman told police she was in charge of the residence where the party was held. Minors were present and admitted to drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana, police said.

(WHAS11) – A Jefferson County Public Schools teacher was arrested on Jan. 1 after police said multiple juveniles admitted to drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana at her residence in Mount Washington, Ky.

Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Boaz Lane for property damage on New Year's Eve. The person who reported the property damage told police there were several teenagers at a party next door. That person said the teenagers had destroyed the property.

An officer talked to Lindsey Lewis, 36, at the residence the teenagers were and told police she was in charge. Officers said they saw 40 individuals inside the residence, and 14 of them were under the age of 18.

According to the police report, officers saw alcohol bottles and cans throughout the residence and could smell marijuana.

Lewis is a teacher at the Phoenix School and has been teaching since 2016.

JCPS said they are addressing the matter.
