St. James Art Show begins in Old Louisville; Vendors, street closure info

600 artists are expected to be featured throughout the 3-day art fair.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The City of Louisville shuts down four-square blocks of a beautiful, historic neighborhood every year for an art show, and this year is no different.

The St. James Court Art Show is a juried fine arts and contemporary crafts show featuring over 600 artists from around the U.S. 

Visitors can expect to see food vendors, furniture, pottery, jewelry, glassworks, woodworking, photography, paintings and more.

The three-day festival is held among the country’s largest collection of Victorian homes in the heart of historic Old Louisville.

Approximately 250,000 people are expected and organizers of the art fair are estimating the show will have a local economic impact of $5.5 million.

The 68th annual St. James Court Art Show will run rain or shine from Friday, Oct. 4 to Sunday, Oct. 6. No pets are allowed.

Friday and Saturday, the hours for the festival are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. On Sunday, the show will begin at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m.

There will be six unique sections within the art show: St. James Court, Belgravia Court, Fourth Street, 3rd Street, 1300 Section, West End Baptist Church.

Street closures

The St. James Court Art Show is held in Historic Old Louisville just south of Central Park on St. James Court, Belgravia Court, Magnolia Avenue, Third and Fourth Streets.

Old Louisville is approximately 3 miles south of downtown Louisville and just 3 blocks north of The University of Louisville. 

During the show, all streets within the event perimeter will be closed.

Parking

You can park in any of those lots for a fee that goes towards nonprofit organizations:

  • Cochran Elementary School: 500 W. Gaulbert
  • Parking is available in the lot south of the Louisville Metro Resilience and Community Services Center aka as the Edison Center for $20 with a shuttle to and from the event every 15 minutes.
  • DuPont Manual High School: 120 W.Lee Street
  • Youth Performing Arts School: 1517 S. 2nd Street
  • Noe Middle School: 121W. Lee Street
  • Louisville Woman’s Club: behind 1322 S. 4th Street
  • Edison Center: 701 W. Ormsby Ave
