Two men found dead on Abigail Ln.

The case of two men found dead inside a home is being investigated as a homicide.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Two men were found shot to death in a townhome on Abigail Lane, that's near Bowman Field.

The wife of one of the men sounding an alarm with a missing person's report before the bodies were found.

LMPD spokesman Dwight Mitchell was able to confirm that Metro Homicide is investigating the case, which started out as a missing person’s report in St. Matthews.

According to St. Matthews Assistant Chief David Beyer it was on Thursday morning the wife of 31-year-old David Kandelaki filed a missing report after he didn't show up in Florida to help her return to their St. Matthews apartment, which was out of character.

Kandelaki's wife told him that he was supposed to drop off his car, and his dog, with friends in Jeffersontown, which did, but investigators aren't releasing how he got from Jefferson to the apartment on Abigail Lane. That is where he was found dead along with 30-year-old Joshua Rice.

"Unfortunately, we wish the outcome had been different, but the fact is that we were able to help the family get a little clarity and closure in terms of where he was. It's unfortunate again that it wasn't under better circumstances," Beyer said.

A coroner’s report says that both Kandelaki and Rice died as a result of gunshot wounds.

At this time investigators believe that Rice and Kandelaki were friends, but it's unclear why Kandelaki was there or what lead to the murder.
