Basketball commission calls for NCAA reforms
LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- Get rid of one and done, and ban cheating coaches for life.
The Commission on College Basketball, which has been investigating the fallout after several scandals, is calling for sweeping reforms by the NCCA.
The Commission is recommending an end to the one-and-done rule, banning cheaters for life and changes to the relationship between the NCAA and apparel companies.
The commission was formed last fall in the wake of the FBI investigation into corruption and fraud in college basketball and recruiting.
Former Louisville head coach Rick Pitino lost his job as a result of the probe, whose findings allege that five-star recruit Brian Bowen received $100,000 to sign with the Cardinals.
NCAA president Mark Emmert says he wants reforms in place by August.
