Southbound I-65 shut down Friday in Scott County due to vehicle fire

All lanes were closed after a vehicle caught fire shortly after noon.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A vehicle fire Friday afternoon closed all I-65 southbound lanes in a portion of southern Indiana.

According to INDOT, a vehicle fire was reported about 12:30 p.m. on I-65 at mile marker 25.2 in Scott County. It's unclear how long the interstate will be shut down.

Officials have not released information about potential injuries. Drivers were asked to avoid the area.
