NIT TOURNEY: UofL prepares to take on Middle Tennessee

Tickets are still available for Sunday's game against Middle Tennessee.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- The UofL Men's Basketball team is preparing for their second NIT game this Sunday, March 18.

The cards will take on Middle Tennessee at the KFC Yum! Center.

UofL Interim Head Coach David Padget spoke to reporters Friday morning and said despite not making in the NCAA, the players are excited about the crowd support.

Their game against Northern Kentucky was under capacity, with less than 10,000 fans but Padgett said it was one of the loudest crowds at a game.

“It just goes to show how great the fans in this town are. They love supporting this team, they love watching basketball, even though we are not in the NCAA--which was our goal. They still come out to support these players and to me, that says a lot about Louisville and what Louisville’s all about,” Padgett said.

Again, the game is Sunday at the KFC Yum! Center. Tipoff is set for 6:30. Tickets are still on sale for that game, they will cost you about $20 each.

Head to the UofL ticket office or you can purchase them online at ticketmaster.com.
