ESPN insider weighs in on UK, UofL players in FBI investigation

"The biggest thing for me was actually seeing the names and the dollar figures."

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – It appears the Yahoo Sports report on the FBI investigation may have placed another coach on the hot seat.

Arizona head coach Sean Miller sat out Saturday game against Oregon after he was reportedly caught on wiretaps discussing paying a recruit.

As Pat Forde and Pete Thamel continue to rock the college basketball world with their release FBI documents on Yahoo Sports, ESPN's Jeff Goodman says one thing sticks out.

"The biggest thing for me was actually seeing the names and the dollar figures,” Jeff Goodman said. “It wasn't a surprise that Andy Miller and Christian Dawkins have been paying kids.”

Former Louisville commit and current South Carolina guard Brian Bowen's name appeared in documents between former NBA agent Andy Miller and his business associate Christian Dawkins.

"Certainly you see his name again, and you start to again wonder what else transpired with his father,” Goodman said.

Alongside Bowen's name in the Yahoo Sports report were two former Kentucky Wildcats: Nerlens Noel and Bam Adebayo.

Adebayo allegedly received more than $36,000 in loans while still in high school which is leading some to question if the Cats may have to forfeit games from last season.

"Unless you can prove that Kentucky's staff knew about the money, the payment, going from Andy Miller to Bam Adebayo's family or whoever it was close to him I think Kentucky is going to be safe,” Goodman said.

Wildcat Kevin Knox was also named in the report for allegedly having dinner with an agent.

"Is it against the rules,” Goodman asked. “Sure. Should it be against the rules? Probably not. To go and have a meal with a meal with an agent and have the agent pay $70 or $100 or whatever it's going to be."

As for how this information could affect the Cards, Cats, and the rest of March Madness?

"Conversations are conversations, but you've got to prove that the money did change hands,” Goodman said. “If we can prove that we have some heavier hitters, and certainly some college coaches, in trouble here.”
