Model Amber Rose will host Run for the Roses & Rose' Derby night

We are coming to home stretch to see the winner of the garland of roses. Once its over, some Derby fans will party with Amber Rose. She will host the Run for the Roses & Rose'.

LOUISVILLE (WHAS11)-- Down the Stretch with Sherlene Shanklin: We are just 37 days away from the fastest two minutes in sports and events are starting to bloom and come to life. This event will be held at the Kentucky Center for African American Heritage on Derby night. It’s the Run for the Roses and Rose’. With that name there’s only one person who can host an event of this magnitude. It’s none other than model, actress and talk show host Amber Rose.

The Season 23 Dancing with the Stars contestant seen right here on WHAS11/ABC will keep the party moving along with R&B singer-songwriter, dancer and actor Lloyd. Fans know him for hits like “BedRock”, “You”, “Lay it Down” and “Cupid”. His latest project “Tru” is based on experiences in his life over the past few years.

When you arrive at KCAAH, you will walk a red carpet so make sure you dress to impress. When you enter the venue, visualize a large room beautifully decorated and three additional rooms for entertainment. The heavy hitter DJ EFeezy will return to Louisville to DJ the experience. He’s recently made an appearance on the latest VH1 Love and Hip-Hop Miami, which is the latest reality show in franchise. Louisville’s own dj of the year DJ Lil Jerry will open for EFeezy. We are also happy to announce that Louisville’s DJ Slikk will spin in one of the specialty rooms.

There will be a VIP Champagne Room sponsored by Hip-hop mogul Rick Ross’ label Luc Belaire Rare Rose’ with the distinguishable black bottle and to capture the Derby celebration. There will be a “Selfie Room” sponsored by Samsung.

The Run for the Roses and Rose’ will be held on Saturday, May 5th at KCAAH located at 1701 W. Muhammad Ali Blvd. Doors open at 11 p.m. and tickets start at $65 from general admission.
