USPS worker sentenced to 10 years after soliciting minor for sex

A postal service worker has been sentenced to 10 years after he admitted to soliciting sex from a minor online.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A United States Postal Service worker in Elizabethtown will spend the next 10 years in prison after he admitted to soliciting sex from a minor online.

According to the plea agreement and other court records, law enforcement officials became aware of Timothy Walters’ conduct as the result of an online undercover operation.

Federal prosecutors say an investigator responded to a Louisville Craigslist advertisement placed by Walters who was seeking a young female for what appeared to be sexual purposes.

He was arrested in March.

After serving 10 years, Walters will be on supervised release for the next 20 years. There is no parole in the federal prison system.
