It took approximately 60 firefighters about one hour to put out a fire that had spread to three residences.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — It took dozens of firefighters about an hour to put out the flames of a fire that had spread to three west Louisville homes Monday night.

At approximately 11 p.m., Louisville Fire Department (LFD) crews were dispatched to the 2600 block of West Jefferson Street on reports of a possible abandoned house fire, according to an LFD news release.

Crews arrives on scene within minutes and found three homes on fire. Fire officials quickly called for extra support to help battle the flames due to the "extensive fire" in the three residential structures, and potentially a fourth.

Firefighters fought the flames using large diameter aerial master streams. It took approximately 60 firefighters about one hour to gain control.

According to LFD officials, no one was found in any of the searches done on the properties and no injuries were reported from the scene.

LFD Arson has opened an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
