Arrest made after man shot, killed in Shawnee neighborhood

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A man was shot and killed early Friday morning in Louisville, according to Louisville Metro Police.

39-year-old Zerric Allen has been arrested and charged with murder according to police.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 600 block of S. 38th Street around 12:45 a.m. on May 15. When they arrived, they found a man in his mid-50s who had been shot. The man was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

The identity of the victim has not been released.

The LMPD Homicide Unit is still investigating.
