LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A new program created by Metro Police is bringing awareness to pet adoptions.

Officials say “Paws on Patrol”, created by Major Kim Burbrink of the 7th Division, partners with Louisville Metro Animal Services to take shelter dogs on patrol field trips with officers.

This is a chance for the animals to get out of the kennel and meet the public while police are on their patrol run.
