Mother Spalding statue makes Louisville history

The statue of Catherine Spalding is the first statue of a woman in Louisville. Spalding died of pneumonia in 1858 after founding an orphanage, multiple schools and a new order of nuns. The statue was created by Louisville sculptor Raymond Graf.
