'Everything there can be replaced' | Tornado damages Hardin County barn, scatters debris

Jeff Maysey said the storms ripped the roof off his barn in Hardin County, damaged part of a cabin, and tossed a heavy, 12-foot utility trailer half a mile away.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The National Weather Service said teams would be surveying storm damage this weekend following Friday night's severe weather.

NWS Louisville said teams will be surveying three areas of reported storm damage in parts of Kentucky and Southern Indiana including Washington County, Ind.; Breckinridge and Meade Counties in Kentucky; and Hardin County, Ky.

WHAS11 meteorologist Reed Yadon visited central Hardin County Saturday morning where an EF-1 tornado touched down.

The NWS said there were EF-1 tornadoes in both Hardin County and Bullitt County, while an EF-0 tornado went through Breckinridge County.

Around 10:43 p.m. Friday night radars picked up a debris field in Hardin County where Jeff Maysey's barn was damaged.

"Everything there can be replaced," Maysey said. "That's the great thing about it, the neighbors, we'll all get together, we'll clean this mess up and that's the good part about where we live and who we live beside.

In Metro Louisville, a tornado warning was issued that lasted until midnight, but no tornado is reported to have caused damage in the city.
