1 dead after crash on I-264 East near Southern Parkway

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — One person has died in a crash on I-264 East near Southern Parkway.

Louisville Metro police said a driver lost control on the wet road, striking the center of a concrete barrier at around 3 p.m. Monday. The car went into the path of a semi-truck, which struck the car on the passenger side.

The driver was transported to UofL Hospital in critical condition. Trimarc confirmed to WHAS11 that the crash was fatal.

The road will remain blocked for up to four hours as police investigate the crash, and traffic is being rerouted to the Southern Parkway exit and back onto I-264 at the interchange.
