LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Some downtown Louisville commuters may need to find a different route starting Friday. According to a release from the Louisville Downtown Partnership, the I-64W ramp to 9th Street/Roy Wilkins Ave. is scheduled to be closed for one week.

The ramp will be closed from 9 a.m. on March 26 until April 2. During that time, drivers can take the 22nd Street exit, then follow 22nd Street to Market to connect to 9th Street.

The closure will allow Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) crews to mill off the existing pavement, perform patching work, repave and restripe the ramp.

Inclement weather could affect the time and date of the closure.

The construction is part of an ongoing $4.5 million improvement plan started last year to repave several interstate ramps in Louisville.
