Portion of I-71N in Oldham County to be shut down for construction Saturday

All lanes of I-71N near Highway 329 (Exit 14) will be closed for several hours starting at 7 a.m. on March 20.

OLDHAM COUNTY, Ky. — A section of I-71 in Oldham County will be shut down Saturday morning as crews conduct excavation work, according to a release from the I-Move Kentucky project.

All northbound lanes of I-71 near Highway 329/Exit 14 are scheduled to be closed starting at 7 a.m. March 20. Traffic will be detoured for several hours as crews conduct a blast near the travel lanes of I-71. The detour will take drivers across Highway 329 to get back onto I-71 on the other side of the construction area.

From Friday at 8 p.m. until Monday at 6 a.m., northbound traffic on I-71 will be reduced to one lane. Additional short-term closures and detours may be possible on Saturday and Sunday to accommodate additional work.

The I-Move Kentucky project includes widening I-71 from four to six lanes from I-265 to the Crestwood/Pewee Valley exit. The project is expected to be completed in 2023.
