CHARLOTTE, N.C. – TMZ released a video Monday that the entertainment news site says is of the moment Ron Rivera confronted Cam Newton about not wearing a tie before traveling to Seattle to play the Seahawks.
After Sunday’s game, Newton said he was offered to borrow a tie from several teammates, but he declined, saying he couldn’t find an appropriate dress shirt that fit. The Panthers lost 40-7, all but ending their hopes to make the postseason for a fourth consecutive year.

Rivera said that he benched Newton because he wants to treat all his players the same, including the defending NFL MVP Newton.
“My decision. Completely my decision,” Rivera said after the game. “The decision was made because I treat them all the same.”
In the video released by TMZ, you can see Rivera, with his back turned to the camera, speaking with Newton on a team bus. You can see a look of disbelief on Newton’s face before he turns and gets back on the bus.
