UofL Track and Field collects 9 wins at the Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville track and field teams finished the day with nine wins in the seeded events and on Saturday afternoon at the Lenny Lyles/Clark Wood Invitational. The Cardinal distance runners led the team with five wins, including two wins by Albert Kosgei.

In his first career appearance in the 3,000m steeplechase, Kosgei earned the first win of the day with a time of 8:58.73. He went on to win the 1,5000m later in the day with a personal best time of 3:54.89.

Dorcas Wasike finished the day with her fourth straight win of the season in the women's 1500m with a time of 4:22.51. Wasike has earned a win in four different events this season (1500m, 3,000m, 5,000m, and 10,000m).

Caroline Gosser picked up her first win of the season in the 5,000m. She finished with a personal best time of 17:20.94. Emmanuel Cheboson gave the Cardinals a sweep in the 5,000m. He won the event with a time of 14:41.87. It was his third win of the season.

Freshman Brooke Raglin won the 100m with a personal best time of 11.56. It was the first win of the outdoor season for Raglin and her first in the 100m. Martice Moore won the 400m hurdles with a time of 53.01. It was the first win of the season for the junior.

The men’s 4x400m relay team of Moore, Josh Hall, Teague Peck and Carlos Coleman wrapped up the track events with a win. Coleman had a strong close for the Cardinals with a season best time of 3:12.15.

Sophomore John Kolb wrapped up the meet with a win in the discus throw. He won the event with a throw of 57.13m/187-05 for his third win of the season.

The Cardinals will have next week off to finish up with finals and prepare for the ACC Championships on May 10-12 at the University of Miami.
