LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – As the regular season came to a close for Louisville women’s basketball last week, they now know where they’ll end up in the NCAA Tournament.
For the first time in program history, the Cardinal women received a No. 1 seed and will battle it out with No. 16 seed Boise State in the Lexington Region.
That game is expected to begin at noon on Friday at the KFC Yum! Center and will air on ESPN.
Ticket information for that matchup have not yet been released.
This was a magical season for the Cards.
The women won their first ACC Tournament title which marked the first conference title since 1993. This is also the first time the Cards have had a first conference title sweep since 1984.
The Cards have also had their best start this year by winning 20 straight games, the longest in the program’s history.
The Cards are 32-2 on the season.
