Rain delays high school baseball, softball tournaments

New dates and times have been set for all of the tournament games.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Storms moving through the Louisville area delayed some high school baseball and softball tournament games on Sunday.

BASEBALL

The first 6th Region semifinal was postponed until 7 p.m. Sunday. Fern Creek and PRP went into extra innings with PRP scoring in the top of the 8th. PRP won 1-0 over Fern Creek.

The second 6th Region semifinal, between Bullitt East and Southern, started at 8 p.m. Bullitt East is moving on 8-6 over Southern.

The 7th Region semifinal is postponed until Monday, May 27.  Male vs. Trinity is set for 3 p.m. and Manual vs. St. Xavier is at 5:30 p.m.

Regional finals are on Tuesday with a site move from Patterson to Eastern. The 6th Region will be at 5:15 p.m. and the 7th Region is at 7:30 p.m.

SOFTBALL

The region tournament is postponed until Monday at Ulmer Stadium.

The 7th Region semifinals are at the following times:

11:30 a.m. - Male vs Eastern completion 

1 p.m. - Ballard vs Assumption 

The 6th Region semifinals are at the following times:

3 p.m. - Mercy vs Holy Cross 

5 p.m. - Butler vs PRP

The armbands that were sold on Sunday will be honored at Monday's softball games.

The finals for softball are on Tuesday--7th Region is at 6 p.m. and 6th Region is at 8 p.m.
