INDIANA BOUND | Langford commits to the Hoosiers

The New Albany basketball star made his announcement in front of hundreds Monday evening.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – The suspense is now over, one of the most sought-after high school recruits for college basketball has now chosen where he’ll continue his basketball future.

Indiana’s Mr. Basketball Romeo Langford has committed to Indiana University to for his basketball experience.

He announced his destination in front of a crowd of hundreds at the New Albany High School gym Monday evening.

“I want to thank all the coaches who recruited me and saw something in me and wanted me to be a part of their great programs,” he said.

Langford then placed the Hoosiers hat atop his head to roaring applause.

Langford was one of the top uncommitted players in the country in the class of 2018.

The New Albany basketball star finished his high school career as the fourth leading scorer in state history.

Langford originally listed schools like Louisville, Kentucky, Duke and North Carolina as his favorites during his sophomore year but narrowed the choice of Kansas, Vanderbilt and Indiana, choosing the latter.
