Ramp closures from I-64 to I-264 begin Saturday

Ramp closures on I-64 at the interchange with I-264 in eastern Jefferson County will begin on Saturday, July 14.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) — If your commute includes traveling from Interstate 64 to the Watterson Expressway, you will need to find an alternate route starting this weekend.

Ramp closures on I-64 at the interchange with I-264 in eastern Jefferson County will begin on Saturday, July 14, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. One ramp will be closed overnight and another ramp will be closed for 30 days.

The exit ramp from I-64W to I-264W (Exit 12) will be closed from 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 14 until 7 a.m. on Sunday, July 15. to install a barrier wall. Motorists will be detoured via I-264E to Westport Road (Exit 21), where they can turn left at the bottom of the ramp and then access I-264 West.

In addition, the exit ramp from I-64E to I-264W (Exit 12) will also be closed at 9 p.m. on Saturday. This ramp will be closed for 30 days to allow for the construction of an additional lane on the ramp from I-64W. A signed detour will be in place via Cannons Lane (Exit 10) to Dutchman’s Lane to Taylorsville Road to I-264W.
