Want to vote in the Kentucky primary? The registration deadline is today

Officials have encouraged Kentuckians to vote by mail-in absentee ballots.

FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky officials are encouraging anyone not registered to vote in the June 23 primary to sign up in the coming days.

The state's voter registration deadline is 4 p.m. May 26. Anyone wanting to register can do so online at GoVoteKy.com. Kentuckians can register, check to see if they are registered or update their registration through the voter information portal.

Leaders have encouraged voters to use mail-in absentee ballots to reduce in-person contact amid the coronavirus pandemic. Kentuckians have until June 15 to request an absentee ballot. Requests can be made at the county clerk's office. Louisville voters can click here.

If Kentuckians choose to vote in-person, they can visit one polling location per county. Louisville voters will vote at the Kentucky Expo Center.

If you will be 18 years old on or before the 2020 General Election, on November 3rd, you must register before today's deadline to be able to vote in the upcoming June 23 Primary.

May 21 was the last day Indiana voters were able to apply for absentee ballots. To request an absentee ballot, voters visit Indiana's voter site and click "Apply Online/Get Forms" on the “Vote By Mail or Traveling Abroad” button.

If you do want to vote in person, Indiana election officials said they will have supplies to keep voters safe at every polling locations. Voters can find their polling location here.
