LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Senior citizens and disabled individuals can start applying for heating assistance in Louisville next week.

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program will start accepting applications Monday in an effort to help some residents pay their utility bills.

In order to apply you will need proof of all household income for September, Social Security cards of every member in the household and your current heating bill.

Applications will be available starting Monday at the Newburg Community Center from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m.
