LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A little league baseball park is asking for the public’s help to replace stolen equipment worth thousands.
Chad Hagan, president of Blue Lick Park, says sometime between July 2 and July 6, someone broke into the facility off Mud Lane.
Hagan says the chains were cut and the doors kicked open.
The thief got away with nearly $5,000 worth of equipment, including a four-wheeler needed to maintain the field.
“We've got a small group of people that put a lot of time in here, every week, every day, just to have baseball for these kids. Just to see something like that happen, and be taken away right out from under you, it deflates you, it wears you down,” Hagan said.
Hagan says some community groups have already reached out to help.
A GoFundMe account has been set up for donations.
