Storm debris drop offs in Kentuckiana

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) — The city of Louisville will be accepting storm debris at multiple drop-off locations from Nov. 19 to Dec. 1.

Residents must present an ID verifying that they live in Jefferson County and drop off eligible storm debris at one of six Louisville locations.

Eligible storm debris includes tree limbs and other compostable debris, but no construction, demolition or man-made materials will be accepted.

Branches should be less than four feet long and two inches wide.

Drop-off service will not be available on Thanksgiving or the following Friday, Nov. 23.

The following drop-off locations will be accepting debris from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday:

The Newburg Community Center located at 4810 Exeter Avenue

Highview Park located at 7201 Outer Loop Road

The Public Works yard located at 10450 Lower River Road

Charlie Vettiner Park located at 5550 Charlie Vettiner Park Road

Shawnee Park Drive located at Dirt Bowl Drive

The recycling center located at 595 Hubbards Lane

Residents of the Urban Services District may also leave storm debris to be collected with their trash as long as twine contained the debris.

In Hardin County, the Springfield Landfill, located at 3870 Springfield Road in Elizabethtown, will be accepting storm debris at specific times for county residents.

These are the times they will take the debris in Hardin County:

SUNDAY: Noon to 4 p.m.

MONDAY: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

TUESDAY: 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The City of New Albany, Indiana, said a temporary storm damage drop off point, near the Riverfront Amphitheater, will be open to take fallen limbs and branches.

The drop off point will be in the West parking lot near the Riverfront Amphitheater (201 E Water Street). It will be open the following hours (Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 21 through Dec. 21):

Monday: through Friday 10 am – 5:30 pm

Saturday: 8 am – 3:00 pm

Sunday: Closed
