LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – It’s the dark side of the Kentucky Derby – the prime event for sex trafficking.
Local authorities have spent countless hours this year trying to prevent it.
Metro Police have arrested several people as part of an undercover operation.
Twenty-six-year-old Nicholas Hilerio-Alfaro, 34-year-old Thomas Falls, 38-year-old Rodney Ellithorpe, 42-year-old Garret Stanbery and 39-year-old Jason Stinson have been charged with promoting human trafficking.
According to arrest records, all 5 men contacted an undercover officer online, who was posing as a minor.
Police say the subject arrange to meet at a hotel and engage in sex acts.
