Plane veers off runway at Blue Grass Airport, no injuries

According to Blue Grass Airport officials, wet and rainy conditions at the airport caused a plane to veer off the runway during landing.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – It was a close call for passengers on a Delta flight landing in Lexington Saturday.

According to Blue Grass Airport officials, wet and rainy conditions at the airport caused a plane to veer off the runway during landing.

Endeavor Air flight 3359, operated through Delta Air Lines, slid into the grass along the side of the runway. The flight originated in Atlanta and was carrying 73 passengers and 4 crew members.

Officials say the pilot remained calm while alerting the control tower.

No injuries were reported in the incident and there was no damage to the plane.

The scare caused all flights to be grounded in and out of the airport.

Officials urge passengers traveling through Saturday evening to check their flight status before arriving at the airport.
