The411: Group looking to combat homelessness during holidays

On Wednesday, Nov. 15 we are asking you to open your heart and donate during our telethon on WHAS11 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 pm.

The411: WHAS11 Television is teaming up with the Homeless Coalition and NFL star Jamon Brown and his foundation JBrown Foundation to do the “502StepUp for the Holidays”.

It’s our effort to bring holiday cheer to our neighbors who are facing a lot of challenges.

It’s extremely hard for those families especially during the winter months and the holidays.

On Wednesday, Nov. 15 we are asking you to open your heart and donate during our telethon on WHAS11 from 4 p.m. to 6:30 pm.

Even a small donation will go a long way. Plus, you will never know who will be on the other line taking your pledge.

Step Up and be a part of the solution to assist those who just need a little help during the holidays.

There’s a spike in homelessness in youth and young adults. Those between the ages of 18 to 24 are the fastest growing segment of homelessness.

In Jefferson County alone there are nearly 10,000 students who are homeless.

The statistics are staggering and agencies like the Homeless Coalition are overwhelmed with requests this time of year. It’s the “502StepUp for the Holidays”.

Please call in from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 pm on Wednesday, Nov. 15 to donate by calling 502-571-2345 or 1-866-885-1848.
