Louisville man charged with human trafficking rejects plea deal

With the plea deal rejection, prosecutors said he will likely be federally indicted soon.

LOUISVILLE (WHAS11) -- A Louisville man charged with human trafficking wants to take his chances at trial.

On July 26 at Jefferson County Circuit Court, Silky Clark officially rejected a plea deal. This was Clark's final day to accept the offer which would have sent him to prison for 15 years.

With the rejection, prosecutors said he will likely be federally indicted soon.

Clark is accused of giving the 16-year-old female drugs and using Backpage as well as social media to market her for sex.

Clark is due back in circuit court Sept. 7.
