Louisville couple gets married during the COVID-19 pandemic

Instead of putting off their wedding, one local couple decided they were going to keep the date, and get married during the pandemic.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — While many couples have had to postpone their weddings this spring, one Louisville couple decided they would keep their date, "We just didn't want to wait any longer and just wanted to start our life together," said Tori Lutes.

Newlyweds Andrew and Tori Lutes tied the knot on March 20th, once everything in Kentucky had shut down. They made the quick decision 5 days before the wedding. "We went from 150 to barely any," said Tori.

There were a lot of understanding guests, they got married in their church that was under construction at the time. It took a lot of creativity and quick planning. "At the end of the day, that's what's important, you love each other," said Andrew.

The Lutes; looped in their caterer, Danny Mac's Pizza, who cut the original order down quite a bit. "I just think it's super important that if you live here in Louisville or the surrounding area, support your local businesses. They're really, really working hard and we wanted to immortalize that on our wedding day," said Andrew.

While people are missing from their wedding photos, the two that matter here is front and center. "Even though it might not go as planned or it might not seem as perfect as you wanted, it's going to be perfect in its own special way," said Tori.

They plan to have a bigger reception in the fall and says whether you decide to postpone or go for it, the wedding will still be perfect. "If you can survive making your plans and getting married during this time, you can make it through anything," said Andrew.
