LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – St. Matthews Police, along with officers from Louisville Metro, Jeffersontown and several other agencies joined forces Sunday for an active shooter drill.

The drill, which took place at Mall St. Matthews, was a simulation to help various agencies learn how to effectively work together in a real scenario.

“If there were an incident at the mall, we would be able to call on other agencies and interact and interface – so it’s very important a coordinated effort addresses a situation like this,” Chief David Reyes, St. Matthews Police, said.

The mall drill lasted three hours.
