LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- Water Step and MSD continue to spread their knowledge of healthy drinking water and education as a professor from Nairobi, Kenya is in town hoping to better his community.

Leaders gathered for a tour and discussion at Floyd's Fork Quality Treatment Center with a professor from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Raphael Wanjala.

He is in town discussing sanitation for his native land which he calls the slums. The area is very congested and waste, particularly human waste, is very difficult to get rid of.

The teams are hoping to implement more sanitation and hygienic solutions which they said can make all the difference.

"Right now we are already learning something on water purification with the support of Water Step and we are doing health education,” Wanjala said.

Progress has already been made. New sinks and methods have been installed as the water purification and cleanliness continues.

Many in the village are calling this a community transformation with new water tanks and better health education.
