Layla Spring headed back to Hollywood; singer wins second chance American Idol audition

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — She’s headed back to Hollywood!

That’s right, Marion County native Layla Spring is getting another chance to go after her American Idol dreams.

The 17-year-old singer was one of three contestants that were given a second chance audition for the golden ticket to Hollywood.

Layla performed during taped segments that aired during the American Music Awards Sunday night.

After voting ended Monday afternoon, icon and singing legend Lionel Richie announced Layla’s return during the Dancing with the Stars finale.

In last year's competition, Layla was eliminated during the "Duets" night where she got to perform with country group Sugarland. 

The season premiere of American Idol airs at 8 p.m. on Feb. 22.
