Lack of social distancing temporarily closes west Louisville's Flaget Field

Flaget Field Park on Greenwood Avenue was closed in April after reports of people not following social distancing guidelines.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A popular park in the Chickasaw neighborhood remains closed.

Flaget Field Park on Greenwood Avenue was closed in April after reports of people not following social distancing guidelines.

Jon Reiter, a Parks and Recreation spokesperson, told WHAS11 News they closed the gates due to people playing pickup football games at the field.

Officials have not approved close contact sports in the Metro Parks.

As restrictions are lifted, Reiter said they’ll consider reopening Flaget.
