JEFFERSONVILLE (WHAS11) – The Jeffersonville Police Department is investigating a suspicious death after a person was found dead in a home in the 120 block of East High Street on Sunday, Aug. 12.
Police received a call at 9 p.m. Sunday and they were told a homeowner in the 120 block of East High Street had not been seen for several days.
Once officers went to the home they found a body and began to investigate. The Jeffersonville Police Department said evidence inside the home suggests the deceased person may be the victim of a homicide. The cause of death is pending an autopsy.
The investigation is ongoing.
Jeffersonville Police said they will provide more information once the person is identified and the cause of death is determined.
At this time the investigation is not related to another homicide that happened earlier in August, according to the police department.
