LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – If you work for Jefferson County Public Schools, you could be receiving a raise soon.

The Jefferson County Board of Education will vote Tuesday on salary plans for its employees which include raises and a move to bring the district’s lowest-paid employees to $14 hourly.

If the Board approves the district’s proposal, nearly 800 JCPS employees who currently make less than $14 an hour will be bumped to that salary.

JCPS says the move is expected to cost the district about $1.3 million.
