Mother appeals sentence in deadly Henryville crash

Ericka Fouch's public defender says that sentence was inappropriate considering the nature of her offenses and Fouch's character.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – A southern Indiana mother who pleaded guilty to charges relating to the death of her two children is now appealing her 18-year sentence.

Ericka Fouch's public defender says that sentence was inappropriate considering the nature of her offenses and Fouch's character.

Fouch's two children, four-year-old Wyatt and 5-year-old Adalynn were killed in 2017 when they were hit by a train while Fouch's vehicle was stopped on the tracks in Henryville.

It was later determined Fouch had controlled substances in her system at the time.
