Man dies after fiery crash in Clark County

Officials with Indiana State Police say the crash involving a semi happened on I-65 South at the 19-mile marker near Henryville just before 6 p.m.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) – Authorities are investigating after a fiery crash in Clark County left one man dead Monday.

Officials with Indiana State Police say the crash involving a semi happened on I-65 South at the 19-mile marker near Henryville just before 6 p.m.

According to their preliminary investigation, for an unknown reason, the driver left the roadway on the west side of the road. The semi struck a tree and caught fire. Police say the vehicle was fully engulfed with the driver trapped inside.

Police are unsure if the man died before, during or after the crash. He has not yet been identified.

Police say the semi was hauling a load of dairy products.

The investigation is ongoing.
