JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) — A Jeffersonville Police Officer has been placed on paid administrative leave by the department.
The department was made aware of a criminal investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Department in which Patrol Officer Rebecca Moses was incarcerated with misdemeanor and felony charges. She was placed on leave and her police powers were suspended by the administration.
Investigators said Moses threatened a woman who is now dating her ex-girlfriend and slightly cut the woman's neck with a knife.
According to Colonel Scott Maples from the Clark County Sheriff's Office, Moses was arrested for battery, intimidating with a weapon, and criminal mischief. She has not been formally charged.
Jeffersonville PD stressed that the department “is committed to ensuring the safety of our community” and that it will “always be transparent with public information as it pertains to our daily operations.”
