Jeffersonville High School band to march in Chicago parade

The marching band left on Nov. 17 to march in the Chicago parade.

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) – A huge honor for the Jeffersonville High School marching band, students and chaperones left early Thursday morning for Chicago where the band is marching in the Christmas Festival of Lights parade.

This year is the first time in about 10 years they broke a score of above 80 in a competition solidifying why they deserve to be in the parade.

"It means a lot because we're really excited, we feel like our band here we really do a lot. We're one of the best-kept secrets at the schools…our state and our school,” Adam Miller, band director, said.

The parade will go on rain or shine. If you'd like to see the parade it will air on WHAS11 on Thanksgiving.
