JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (WHAS11) -- Firefighters are usually known for saving cats from trees, but earlier this week in Jeffersonville, it was a bird who needed some help.

The macaw's owner came by the station Wednesday saying Ruby, her macaw, had flown from her house to a tree across the street.

Jeffersonville Fire's Tower 41 responded and was able to rescue Ruby from the tree and give her safely back to her owner.
