Ice storm knocks out power for over 70,000 Kentucky residents

Fallen trees and downed power lines are causing several power outages across Kentuckiana. See the latest outages here.

The winter weather from overnight has led to several fallen trees and power outages across Kentuckiana.

LG&E is reporting outages that are affecting 60,000 customers in Jefferson County alone. You can view the current outages on a map here. If you need to report an outage to LG&E you can do so by calling 502-589-1444 or 800-331-7370. You can also send them a text by making sure your account is up-to-date with your mobile number and then texting OUTAGE to 4LGEKU (454358).

If your power is out, do NOT call 911 - contact LG&E.

The LG&E outage map updated in near real-time to reflect the most up-to-date information available on outages in your area, including estimated restoration time and the cause of an outage, if known.

Duke Energy is also reporting several outages in Southern Indiana. Outages in Clark County are affecting over 9,000 customers. To view the Duke Energy map, you can click here.

Please be advised that several power lines are down and can affect your morning commute. If you see a downed power line, do not approach it and find another way around it.
