Fundraiser will benefit Jeffersonville teen hit by car

JEFFERSONVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A Jeffersonville High School student is in the hospital struggling to recover 20 days after a car hit him while he was bicycling to school.

Roby Melton, 16, was hit by a car on Oct. 2 and taken to University Hospital.

Melton suffered several fractures to his face and body when he hit the windshield and hood of the car.

He is currently in a coma and once he wakes up he will need several surgeries and physical therapy.

Rock It Out For Roby Fundraiser

His friends have set up a fundraiser to help with the mounting medical bills.

The fundraiser will be held November 9 at 7 p.m. at 300 Spring Street in Jeffersonville. There will be plenty of entertainment as well as a silent auction. The entry fee is $10.
