LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WHAS11) -- A comedy show fundraiser is being held tonight for a metro corrections officer involved in a motorcycle crash back in June.

Thomas Wells,22, was riding on Rockford Lane when a driver making a left turn cut in front of him causing him to lose control of his bike. Wells ended up in the hospital with a temporal fracture and a brain bleed.

Because of the short time Wells served at Metro Corrections, he does not have a lot of sick time and paid time off accrued.

Now, his brothers are teaming up to put on the Laugh Until You Turn Blue Benefit.

The comedy show fundraiser starts at 8 p.m. at River City 614 FOP Lodge on Price Lane on August 3. Tickets are $10 and all proceeds go to Thomas Wells and his recovery.
